The EOC1650 is the perfect small CPE (customer premise equipment) unit for short hauls. I use these units at locations within about a mile of the main tower, sometimes more depending on conditions. You can configure them as APs, bridges, or bridge-routers. At a sub-$50 price point, they are tough to beat. I have also recommended and installed them as in-home wireless access points and bridges for people who have internet connections at one end of a long house, computers at the other, and lots of walls in the middle. They are a whole lot better at handling outdoor weather than the manufacturer's earlier tan radios.
